Emergence Profile
Vertical Platform Switch Profile – Ritter was the first to produce a full line of these products to promote soft tissue healing and growth but also so that an Implant may be placed sub-crestal (below the bone).The shape of the shoulder or the flare out of the abutment as it comes out of the implant is called the Emergence Profile.
Shoulder, Collar, Gingival Margin, Gingival height – all mean the same thing – as the abutment emerges off the platform of the Implant to shape the soft tissue (gums/ gingiva/sulcus) and rises to a certain height which matches the height distance of a persons bone level to the depth of the tissue.
